Partnering with Pallium Canada to Advance Undergraduate Education

The CSPCP are working together to build on the momentum of a resolution passed by the CMA in August 2013 “that all Canadian faculties of medicine create a curriculum for training in palliative care suitable for physicians at all stages of their medical education and in appropriate settings to the locale in which they practice.” (DM5-53).

The CSPCP and Pallium Canada will work together to:
a) evaluate the extent to which EFFPEC competencies are present in current medical school curricula
b) encourage strengthening of the curriculum where needed

The two organizations bring different strengths to this work and will engage other organizations such as CHPCA, the CMA and the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada where appropriate.
